GASIMP Commences DNA Sampling for Families of Abu Gurain Accident Victims

The General Authority for Search and Identification of Missing Persons (GASIMP) began procedures today to collect DNA samples from the families of victims in yesterday’s tragic traffic accident in the Abu Gurain area. The accident resulted in several fatalities whose identities remain unknown due to the severity of the vehicle fires.

Scientific Accuracy and Legal Procedures

This initiative is part of the national efforts to identify the victims and return them to their families as swiftly as possible, ensuring both scientific precision and adherence to established legal protocols.

In this context, GASIMP announced that it received an official mandate from the Public Prosecution. A specialized team from the Authority has been assigned to collect DNA samples from the remains and cross-match them with samples provided by the next of kin. This process is being conducted in close coordination with relevant authorities to finalize identification and refer the findings back to the Public Prosecution for legal action.

Commitment to Standards and Compassion

GASIMP emphasized that its technical teams are operating according to international standards, in collaboration with security and medical entities, while maintaining deep sensitivity toward the humanitarian plight of the victims’ families. The Authority calls upon the relatives of potential victims to contact GASIMP to complete the necessary procedures to assist in the identification process.

Message of Condolence

The General Authority for Search and Identification of Missing Persons (GASIMP) extends its deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the families of the victims. We pray that Almighty God grants the deceased His vast mercy and provides their loved ones with patience and solace.
