The General Authority for Search and Identification of Missing Persons (GASIMP) is persisting in its intensive efforts to identify the victims of the tragic accident that occurred two days ago on the coastal road between Abu Qurayn and Al-Washka, which claimed the lives of 10 individuals.
Genetic Analysis and Sampling
Specialized teams from GASIMP have completed the collection of biological samples from both the victims and their families. These samples are being prepared for referral to the Authority’s advanced laboratories for genetic analysis (DNA testing). This technical intervention is essential as direct identification was rendered impossible due to the severity of the vehicle fires.
Preparation for Final Handover
In parallel, medical teams have begun the process of preparing the deceased for handover to their families. The final release will take place immediately following the conclusion of the DNA cross-matching results and the subsequent referral of the findings to the Attorney General’s Office for legal clearance.
GASIMP reaffirms its commitment to conducting these procedures with the highest levels of scientific accuracy and professional speed to ease the burden on the affected families during this difficult time.
