Libya Joins Regional Experts’ Meeting on Missing Persons in North Africa and the Middle East

   Prof. Dr. Kamal Abubaker, President of GASIMP, took part in the regional meeting of experts on missing persons in North Africa and the Middle East. The meeting was held at the kind invitation of the Republic of Iraq, represented by the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP).
The summit brought together several international institutions working on missing persons cases from Kuwait, Iraq, Yemen, and Palestine.
During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Kamal presented an overview of Libya’s experience, represented by the Government of National Unity, and highlighted the progress made in addressing various aspects of this humanitarian file.
The Libyan case received significant attention during the discussions and presentations, with participants commending the Authority’s success in localizing DNA analysis technology and using it to identify unidentified human remains.
