Following instructions from the President of GASIMP, the Authority’s teams immediately began their work after receiving a report from the Misrata Prosecutor’s Office regarding the discovery of 30 unidentified bodies found along the city’s shoreline.
Specialized teams initiated necessary procedures, including collecting DNA samples from the remains to match them against the Authority’s database. Legal procedures were also carried out for the bodies that had been processed, and 17 of them were buried in Abu-Grain Cemetery in Misrata.
The final DNA matching report will be submitted to the Office of the Attorney General.
