The GASIMP organized an academic event to mark World DNA Day, which this year coincided with a national holiday. The event was held under the theme: “Our Mission—From a Coded Number to a Real Name,” highlighting the vital role of DNA in identifying missing individuals.
The event was attended by the President of the Authority, Prof. Dr. Kamal Abubaker, along with a number of distinguished guests, including university professors, experts in science and forensic medicine, and researchers interested in the field of scientific inquiry.
The event featured a series of educational lectures delivered by a group of esteemed academics, whose scientific messages covered various aspects of DNA applications. Speakers included:
• Prof. Dr. Nabil Al-Nattah
• Dr. Ahmed Al-Margani
• Dr. Iman Talha
• Mr. Ashraf Abu Al-Eid
The forum concluded with an open scientific discussion, during which the President of the Authority welcomed questions and comments from all attendees regarding the event and the Authority’s work.
As part of the closing ceremony, the Authority honored the lecturers in recognition of their efforts to raise awareness about the importance of genetics.
