As a part of its continuous efforts to develop technical and institutional systems for the missing persons file, the (GASIMP) held a coordination meeting with the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP) in Tunis city, Tunisia. The meeting focused on the mechanisms for adopting and implementing the Integrated Data Management System (iDMS).
Enhancing Data Efficiency and Coordination
The iDMS is a specialized solution designed for managing missing persons’ data, supporting case documentation, and organizing information related to missing persons’ files. This system is expected to significantly improve operational efficiency and facilitate seamless coordination between GASIMP’s specialized technical departments.
Official Agreement and Implementation
The meeting concluded with the signing of the End-User License Agreement (EULA), which regulates the use of the system. This signing represents a major step forward in advancing the Authority’s data management tools and enhancing its ability to handle this humanitarian and national file through a more organized and secure methodology.
Commitment to Families
The Chairman of GASIMP, Dr. Kamal Abu Bakr, emphasized that adopting the iDMS is a vital move in supporting the Authority’s efforts to evolve search and identification mechanisms. He stated that managing data more systematically and securely brings the Authority closer to its mission of providing answers to families regarding the fate of their missing loved ones.
Ongoing International Partnership
This collaboration is part of the long-standing partnership between GASIMP and the , reflecting the importance of building national capacities and developing technical tools to support the Authority’s work.
The meeting was attended by the Chairman of GASIMP, Dr. Kamal Abu Bakr, several departmental directors from the Authority, and representatives from the ICMP.
