The General Authority for Search and Identification of Missing Persons (GASIMP) concluded a specialized training program this morning. The final session was attended by Ms. Sophie Kemkhadze, the UNDP Resident Representative; Mr. Arjen Uijterlinde, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Libya; and Mr. Hossam El-Din Ishaq, the Rule of Law Project Manager.
The program was implemented through cooperation between GASIMP and the UNDP, with support from the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and conducted by the Guatemalan Forensic Anthropology Foundation (FAFG).
Briefing on Institutional Progress
The delegation was received by the Chairman of GASIMP, Prof. Dr. Kamal Al-Siwi. During the meeting, they reviewed the progress of several files related to the Authority’s mandate and received a briefing on current efforts and future plans aimed at enhancing technical and institutional performance.
Evaluation of the Training Program
The visit included a review of the training program dedicated to GASIMP’s staff. The delegation was briefed on the program’s objectives, core modules, and key outcomes, highlighting its role in improving the efficiency and professional capabilities of the participants.
Strengthening International Cooperation
Speeches delivered during the event emphasized the importance of continued support for specialized training programs. These initiatives are vital for building national capacity and developing institutional performance, while also strengthening the existing cooperation between the Authority and its international partners in the search and identification of missing persons.
